Silk & Thistle jewelry line

My dear friend, Sara, is a talented artist. She’s spent years perfecting her one-of-a-kind spun cotton creations, and has built a tremendous fan base. The creatures she dreams up are weirdly adorable, and as soon as she releases a new piece, they’re purchased in a flash. Because they’re handmade and in such high demand, it’s made it impossibly hard for all of her fans to have the chance to get their hands on one, so Sara decided to branch off & offer other items for her fans to enjoy. Her newest line is miniature versions of her spun cotton creations in jewelry form: sweet little charms that you can wear as jewelry.

I photographed these cuties for her launch, and she graciously gave me full artistic freedom. I spent some time deciding how I would best represent her brand authentically… noticing how whimsical, colorful & cheerful the pieces are, and how she often incorporates nature into the pieces she shares online.

So, finding some colorful backdrops (and of course, some silk & thistle), I photographed the charms with my macro lens to capture the details, and then asked another friend of ours, Juli, to also model some of the pieces for me. This is the final result! From what I hear, her fans are in love & the launch went incredibly well. I’m so happy that I was able to help her with this delightful new pursuit!

Stay tuned to see what else she has to offer, and visit her website to see all of her amazing work.
